Jean Mistler Jean Mistler

Plaque: Jean Mistler

The translation of the phrase "ex condemned to death" is not satisfactory but then we are not sure the French is any more elegant. One possible interpretation is that Mistler fought in WW1, was condemned to death and escaped, thus surviving to found a clandestine paper in WW2. If so then that is true dedication to the resistance cause.
